Brother HL-2400CeN color laser review
The Brother HL-2400CeN color laser printer is an entry level color laser. At around $1300 it is certainly dropped in price since it's initial $2000 plus price tag. The Brother HL-2400CeN color laser printer offers reasonable speeds and good print quality.

Brother has a good laser printer reputation
One positive thing about this printer is the inclusion of a network port for sharing on a network. Many entry level printers omit this so they can hit low price points. The standard 32 mb memory is on the smallish side but this can be expanded to 288 mb cheaply with two spare memory slots.
Other good features of the Brother HL-2400CeN color laser
This printer supports interpolated resolutions up to 2,400dpi (dots per inch), which means print quality is very good. The speed is also comparable across this price range at 16 pages per minute for black and 4 for color.
With other low costs printers you also get consumables that have low page ratings, for example HP rates the color cartridges for it's Laserjet 1500L at only 4,500 pages. For the Brother HL-2400CeN Color toner cartridges list for $125, with a rated life of 6,000 pages (about 2 .1 cents per color per page). The black toner cartridge lists for $130 and is rated to print about 10,000 pages (1.3 cents per page of text).
One concession to price is the single 250-sheet paper tray.

I can't stress enough the print quality of this color laser. If quality is more of a concern than speed and you need the network option then you should look carefully at the Brother HL-2400CeN color laser.
However the low input paper capacity is a bit of a shame. All in all if you can find one of these printers that is sufficiently discounted then I would recommend. You will certainly be getting better print results than a comparable HP printer.
